My belated condolences go to Greg's family. Tonight I was listening to a 1971 song which reminded me of the summer of 1971 when, while waiting to be drafted, I spent one week with Greg in Georgetown (DC). Sadly, while researching his whereabouts tonight, I noticed his obituary. We were students at U of Miami taking the same chemistry classes in 1970-71 and became good friends. He was very generous and allowed me to spend the entire week with him in Georgetown. He showed me around town even though he was busy at work that summer. Needless to say, I had a great time with Greg! He was very intelligent and I knew he was bound to have great success in any profession he chose. His family can be very proud of him and I am sure he has been missed by many many friends. I will miss him, too, but I have great memories of our times at UM.

I am just finding out about Greg's passing so you may never get this message but I wanted to let you know that Lori and Greg were/are very precious to me and an important part of my youth. Living in the middle of the ocean often means I am out of touch with a lot of things. My heart is with you. Mary Gaines Hyslop.

Greg really enjoyed seeing you at that reunion. He lived life by his own rules...he had no regrets.

Greg was a such a great guy. We were friends in high school and college. I remember in high school he drove, I think, a 1932-33 Cadillac. He loved his family. He had a wonderful mom, grandmother and sister, Lori. I also had the opportunity to meet Carol at our 25th high school reunion. He accomplished so much and he carried the love of living life with him. He is a treasured memory.

Greg Spencer was a motivated, handsome, intelligent , kind individual. This runs in the family, of course, since I am his cousin. I recall visiting him, his father, mother, and sister Lori, when they resided in Flint in what was then a new subdivision. Greg loved to golf and play tennis. His father, Perry, would play the piano and sing, while their dog, a fawn Boxer, watched in awe. They subsequently came to our farm for summer hayrides and firework displays, after his father, Perry, passed away. I was always very proud of Greg, a class act, who was indeed an inspiration. L. Terrance Spencer Finley, Esq. - Chicago
