We are the FIRST Cremation Society in Mid and Northern Michigan, to exclusively provide direct cremation services. Pre-registering with us assists your family with planning the type of services that honor your life story and remain consistent with your personal wishes and beliefs. This simple process relieves your survivors from making significant and important decisions while under emotional distress.

Our mission is to provide direct cremation services at a price that is economical, with dignity, compassion, and understanding. We believe this affords you and your loved ones both financial and emotional peace of mind. The mission of Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan is to offer stress free and efficient pre-registration for services without pressure to purchase items that are either not necessary or not wanted. With us, those that choose cremation are treated with respect and dignity. Cremation services with us, are our only focus and not a sideline to the often more costly option of "traditional funerals". We do not offer funerals, embalming, hearses, caskets, or viewing.
For clients that are not pre-registered with us, the charge for direct cremation service is $ 1,300.00. However, for those who choose to pre-register with us (all necessary paperwork is physically in our office prior to the time death occurs) the charge is $ 975.00. If your interested in pre-registering visit this page to print the necessary forms or give us a call at 989-892-1772.Our charges include: removal of the deceased from the place of death, the cremation container, the cremation itself, the return of the cremated remains in a solid container suitable for storage or burial depending on the requirements of individual cemeteries, completing and filing the death certificate, obtaining the required physician signature on the death certificate, notification of Social Security, assistance with DHHS applications, scheduling of burial or entombment at a National Cemetery, and guiding you to Veteran's Affairs Officers to apply for County Burial Benefits for honorably discharged veterans.
We provide service to clients in all Mid and Northern Michigan counties, however, there is no mileage charge for those within our service area which includes: Arenac, Bay, Midland, Saginaw, Tuscola, Gladwin, Genesee & Shiawassee Counties. For other counties a minimal mileage charge will apply.
Additional assistance with urns, urn vaults, obituaries, memorial folders, holy cards, etc. is also available.
