He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1952 and then served in the US Army from 1953-1956. He was stationed at Fort Knox, KY and Mainz, Germany. On July 24, 1954, he married Virginia Clark. They would have been married 63 years this year. Bob worked at Wickes Corporation, Lumber Division, for many years and then retired as the Executive Officer of the Saginaw Board of Realtors in 1999. He is survived by Ginny and three children. Kim (Craig) Atkins, Birch Run; Robert M. (Janet) Rusch, Frankenmuth; and Laurie Millar, West Lafayette, Indiana. Six grandchildren, Ben Atkins (Cathy), Frankenmuth; Caitlin (Jake) Nydegger, Lafayette, Indiana; Kelsey (Jacob) Mecham, Charlotte; Andy Atkins (Ashley), Birch Run; Jacob Millar (Kelsey), Lafayette, Indiana; Ryan Rusch (Melody), Grand Blanc. Four great-grandchildren, Zoe and Jensen Millar; Ella and Sadie Nydegger, and baby Mecham expected in December. A sister-in-law, Ann Densmore, Freeland; and one brother-in-law, Carl Maciejewski, Bay City. He was predeceased by brothers Howard and Eldon and sisters Beverly Morford and Barbara Maciejewski and his faithful furry companion, Abby. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Saginaw Lodge #77, the Scottish Rite, Elf Khurafeh Shrine, its Arab Patrol and Provost Guard. Bob also belonged to the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. Bob enjoyed, first and foremost, his family. He spent countless hours with the grandchildren playing card and board games. He liked to fish for pan fish and baited many hooks teaching his kids how to fish. He was an avid family historian and genealogist. He and Ginny loved to travel, and they enjoyed trips all over the country and Europe. It was not uncommon for them to just get in their car and ride. These times were their "mystery trips." They danced so well together people sometimes would stand back and watch when they danced the polka. Bob liked old time country, and big band music. Those considering on expression of sympathy are asked to consider 2nd Presbyterian Church or a charity of their choice.
