Obituary of Thomas William Wheeler
Wheeler, Thomas William
Midland, MI
Thomas William Wheeler, of Midland, Michigan went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 25, 2016, after his battle with cancer.
Tom was born in Flint, Michigan, on September 2, 1958, to Raymond and Patricia Wheeler. He graduated as Valedictorian from Perry High School in 1976 and took pride in his career in sales and his leadership at Calvary Baptist Church, including serving on the deacon board, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and conducting the hand bell choir.
On June 4, 1978, he married the love of his life, Renae Cook Wheeler, and was blessed with five children. He was incredibly devoted to his wife and lived his life according to Ephesians 5:25 – Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it.
He had a passion for life that included spending time camping with his children, teaching them a strong work ethic by getting up each Saturday and Sunday morning to help with paper routes, and training his family about gun safety and marksmanship, thoroughly enjoying his time with them at the shooting range. Most importantly, he wanted his children to love and know God. He made time for family devotions and helping his children learn God's Word so they could have a personal relationship with Him. Tom was deeply respected for his wisdom, which will live on through his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a Godly man who loved his wife, mother, children, grandchildren, church and career.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Renae, his son Nathaniel and wife Heather and their children Ethan, Jacob, Matthew and Caleb; his daughter Nicole and her children Isaiah, Claire and Baby Tommy (on the way); his son Jonathan and wife Jodi; his son Timothy and wife Danika and their son Levi; his son Aaron; his mother Patricia, brother Richard, sister Shelley, brother Bobby and many beloved friends.
