Obituary of Donald R. Messersmith

Donald Messersmith of Midland MI, age 77, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020. He was born in Midland, MI on June 27, 1943 to the late Eugene and Fannie (Probst) Messersmith. He was a member of the Venture Touring Society for many years. He loved working at the Sanford/Auburn Food Center (IGA) for over 35 years and would frequently go in on his days off to check in. He also loved riding his motorcycle, bowling, and his dogs. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Deborah (Stortz) Messersmith; his children, Charles (Marlyn) Messersmith and Ray Messersmith; step-daughters, Dawn (Larry) Lapak, Lisa Trudell, and Anne Trudell; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother and sister, Richard (Janet) Messersmith and Sharron (Maynard) Hyer; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Edward and William Messersmith; and daughter-in-law, LouAnn Messersmith. A date for a memorial dinner has not been announced.
