Obituary of Donald E. Simmons
Donald E. Simmons, age 91, of Midland MI passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020. He was born in St. Charles MI on June 8,1928 to George and Francis (Martin) Simmons. He attended school in St.Charles MI. He married Shirley Lowden Simmons on March 21, 1953 in Fort Wayne Indiana. He lived in Michigan all of his life, retiring from Baker Perkins in Saginaw MI, after 37 years of service. After retiring, he and his family moved to Hale MI where he liked to camp, fish, and hunt. He also liked to watch cowboy movies on TV. Don is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Shirley Lowden; 2 daughters, Cindy(Robert) Long of Midland and Cathy Rau of Houghton Lake; 3 sons, Donald Simmons Jr. of St. Charles MI, George (Beverly)Simmons, Allan(Melissa) Simmons; a sister Berneita Whelton of Saginaw M; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
