Paul, age 99, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, with his loving family at his side. The son of the late Charles and Angeline Grill, Paul was born May 19, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. Paul married Donna Armstrong on July 30, 1947. Paul proudly served with the United States Army in World War II, being engaged in the Battle of the Bulge. After sustaining injuries, Paul was honorably discharged and received a Purple Heart Medal for his service; amongst several other medals he was decorated with. He was the owner of the Tony's Take Out on South Michigan, and retired at the age of 65. He was a member of the V.F.W Post # 22, and one of the founding members of the Order Sons of Italy in America Sacra Famiglia Saginaw Lodge #2456. Paul enjoyed watching sports, football, baseball, golf and going to the Casino.
Paul is survived by his wife; a daughter and two sons, Tim (Ann) Grill of Charlevoix, Cheryl (Martin) Dahl of Saginaw, Steve Grill and Toni Lape of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family. Paul was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
