Obituary of Cathy M. Cormier

Cormier, Cathy M. Saginaw, Michigan With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Cathy Mae Cormier, age 68, on September 8, 2019. She was born on June 7, 1951 in Caro, MI to Richard and Adeline Louks and raised in Saginaw, MI. Cathy graduated from to Arthur Hill High School and attended Delta College. Cathy was married to her husband Malcolm Andre Cormier on May 6, 1972 for a wonderful 47 years of marriage. Malcolm would buy flowers for her every other week. Cathy was a dedicated mother, homemaker, and worker. She was a wonderful mom to her two daughters, AnnJanette Toth and Krysten Cormier. She treasured her children and embraced each moment with them. She especially loved her role as Gramma. Cathy was a faithful member of Ames United Methodist Church, attending there for her entire life. She served in many roles there such as church secretary, VBS coordinator, worship team member and was an active part of the intercessory prayer team and her women's circle. She also worked as a part-time clerk at Family Christian Store, always praying for the many people who walked in and out of those doors. Cathy had a servant's heart. Everyone that knew Cathy, would always remark of her unwavering kindness and joyful demeanor. She was always kind and smiling. Her life emulated the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." Cathy is survived by her husband, Malcolm Cormier, daughters AnnJanette Toth and Krysten Cormier, son-in-law Matt Toth, grand-daughter, Adrianna Toth, grandson Caleb Toth, mother, Adeline Louks, brothers Greg (Julie) Louks, Brian (Dort) Louks, Scott (Sheri) Louks, Robert (Melanie) Louks and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Preceded in death by father Richard Louks and sister Judy Kasper. Cathy will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Please join us celebrating her life at a memorial service that will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Ames United Methodist Church (801 State Street, Saginaw, MI 48602) The family will receive friends at church from 10:00AM until the time of service.
