Obituary of Regina Ellen Garrett Grondzik

Regina Ellen Garrett Grondzik, left this earth, passing gently into the waiting arms of her Grandmother Mildred (Granny Zimmerman) and Aunt Sandy. Jeannie as she was known, was born on August 31, 1951 to Donna (Zimmerman) and Edward Garrett. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School. Jean always provided for her family and had many great jobs: Michigan Bell, managed Armor Car Companies, owned a gas station, was a prison guard, and even had her owned a private investigating business. Nothing was impossible for Jean. Jeannie married Joseph Grondzik on November 11, 1978 in Saginaw. Jeannie loved the warmer weather of Florida and moved there in the 80's. She resided there until her return to her friends and family in her hometown of Saginaw, Michigan in 2018. Jean's home was always full of fun and laughter with her children and grandchildren. She was a Corvette enthusiast and enjoyed owning many throughout her years. Her grandchildren were the recipient of her love of baking. Jean is survived by her children, James Grondzik of Florida, Rachel Baker, Niki (Gordon) Savage and Jodi Valead all of Michigan; her mother, Donna Wascher; brothers, Jimmy Haas and Ron (Pam) Wascher; sisters, Connie (Neal) Cleveland and Sam Wascher. She also leaves her legacy of ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be missed by nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeannie leaves the 'love of her life', her grandson, Lincoln, who was her constant companion. Preceding her in death were her husband Joe Grondzik, her father Edward Garrett, Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman, her sisters Cheryl Jendry and Bonnie Ladd, and Aunts Sandy and Millie and Uncle Jack. The family would like to thank her life-long friends Susie Borchers, Sue Lopes, and Karen Hoefling for the love and support they have provided to Jean. Also, a special thanks to The Richardsons for being an important part of our family.
