Eve was my friend. She visited the mason library regularly, always upbeat and with a big smile, and we would chit chat. She was such a free spirit, interesting, intelligent, enthusiastic and full of news and ideas to share with all of us mason staff. We all were very fond of her. i often saw her walking around town, and i am sure she knew many mason folks. She was a friendly, social soul. i will never forget the time i spotted her at the Empire, mi farm market one summer Saturday. We laughed about the coincidence, and talked about our love of sleeping bear. We ended up hiking together at otter creek that day. She knew the best trail, and pointed out to me various wonders of nature, including some droppings that she identified, and i was impressed with that. Then she said "lets go pick some blueberries' and we did. And i was so inspired by our outing, that i went home and made a blueberry pie, my first.
i am so sorry for the loss of your mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that the memories of Eve in happier times will comfort you. Sincerely, karen oswald
