Obituary of Vivian Maxine (Gallihugh) Cornelius
Vivian Maxine Cornelius (Gallihugh), age 87, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center - Midland with family by her side. Vivian was born on January 17, 1931, in Lafayette Township to the late Floyd and Gertrude Randall. Vivian married her high school sweetheart, Ira "Junior" Gallihugh in 1950. Together they were blessed with 53 years of marriage and four children. Ira preceded Vivian in death in 2003. Vivian married Robert "Bob" Cornelius in 2009. They traveled and enjoyed life together for six wonderful years before Bob passed away in 2015. Vivian spent her life as a homemaker, always putting family first. She enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, and spending time with her family. Vivian was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Whitehall, MI, where she lived for 28 years. Upon returning to Midland, she was welcomed back to Floyd Church of God, where she was a committed member. Vivian's strong dedication to her faith always led her through life.
Vivian is survived by her children, Beth (Rod) Brick of Breckenridge, MI, Lisa Frazer of Hart, MI, and Troy (Mary) Gallihugh of Whitehall, MI; grandchildren Todd (Jenn) Brick, Carrie (Darnell) McMurrian, Matt (Cate) Duff, Liam Duff, Mallory Gallihugh, Mark Frazer, and Trey Gallihugh; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; infant daughter, Dawn Gallihugh; great-granddaughter, Chloe McMurrian; and eight siblings.
Honoring Vivian's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on September 29, 2018 at Floyd Church of God, 1015 W. Chippewa River Road, Midland, MI 48640. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.. The service will be followed by a luncheon at the church.
