Obituary of Michael "MJ" Sapyak

Michael "MJ" Sapyak of Sanford Michigan passed away on September 4, 2018. He was born in Midland Michigan June 2, 1950 to the late Steve J. and Marie C. (Boyle) Sapyak. Michael graduated from Midland High School in 1968 and was retired from Michigan Sugar Company. Michael enjoyed both bow and bird hunting; reading, especially about War history and political history. He was an avid Red Wing hockey fan and liked to attend Northwood College and High School hockey games. He also enjoyed attending American Legion baseball and High School baseball and football games. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol (Wierman) Sapyak and Boo Bear his beloved cat; brother, Steven Sapyak; sisters, Suzanne (David) Bass and Stacie (Frank) Schossau; brothers in law, Dave Bober and Jack (Carol) Wierman; sister in law, Nola (Jim) Knight; very special nephews, Brian Sapyak, Aaron Wierman, and Matthew Schossau; nieces, Becky Knight and Ashley (Bober) Marcelo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Julie M. Sapyak and Stephanie L. Bober. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place Saturday 22, 2018 from 1-4pm at Lord of New Life Lutheran Church, 3021 East Hubbard Road, Midland MI 48642.
