Obituary of Robert A. Wegener
Wegener, Robert A.
Bay City, MI
Robert passed away June 1, 2018, at the age of 50. He was born May 28, 1968 to Richard B. and Mary A. Gwizdala. He was a one time member of the IBEW and remained curious about electricity and magnetism throughout his life. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Delphi Automotive. He was proud of his mathematical capabilities and that he completed his Associate Degree. He was an avid history buff who liked to read and watch documentaries; was a sports fan; a toughman champion; and fought in the golden gloves. His fighting name was the Raging Bull Bob Wegener.
In his final years he provided much care for his father and brother. He was elated to be helping his daughters overcome the hurdles of early adulthood. Of all the good in his life, he enjoyed family the most, expressing his joy of living near many of them, saying "100 family members within a 6 block radius." He was a proud father, grandfather, brother and son.
He is survived by his daughters Caitlyn and Tiana; grandsons, Tyrus and Leo; siblings, Michael Wegener, Richard Wegener, William Horning, Clarke Wegener, Ann Marie Garchow; nine nieces and nephews; and parents Richard and Diane Wegener.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Pete and Christina Gwizdala, Richard and Margaret Wegener, and Virgil and Eleanor Lamblin; and nephew, Richard "Ricky" B. Wegener III.
A private family gathering has been held. He will be interred at St. Patrick's Cemetery near his mother, uncle Jim and Gwizdala grandparents.
