Age 95, recently of Owosso, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at The Meadows of Owosso. Trudy was born March 13, 1923 in Belding , Michigan, the youngest daughter of Wellington J and Myrtle A Cameron.
She graduated from Belding High School and Sparrow Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals throughout her life. Trudy married Dr. John T. Goodman, and worked alongside him in his veterinary practice in Port Huron, MI while raising four children. She had a deep longstanding faith and close relationship with her Lord. She taught Sunday School for many years, was a Bible scholar and had a passion for leading children to accept God as their Savior. She was a master seamstress, knitter, tennis player, cook and pie maker. Her carrot cake was legendary. Trudy remained vital, physically active and enjoyed swimming and exercising regularly until her late eighties and took pride in her appearance; her friends and caretakers at The Meadows consistently characterized her as "classy lady" until the day she passed. She will long be remembered for her intelligence, sarcastic wit and willingness to share her opinions. She was truly a 'force'. She enjoyed traveling and was able to take numerous cruises and trips to various countries around the world.
She is survived by her daughters, Jorja (Roneil) Ackels of Owosso, Jeri(Stephen) Rumsey of Bellfontaine, Ohio, and son James of Port Huron. She deeply loved and is also survived by grandchildren Sheri(Justin), and Carie(Michael), of Westland, MI, Amanda(Reverend Brendon)of Marysville, MI, David (Molly)of Sarasota, FL, Jordan(John)of Bellfontaine, OH, Dr. Jessie of Fresno, OH, Amber of Port Huron, MI, and Alisha(Casey)of Muskegon, MI . Trudy adored her great grandchildren Nicolas, Kaden, Kenton, Sarah, Gavin, Morgan, Aiden, Madeleine, Sean, Rhys, Drake and Myla. She is also survived by her beloved brothers in law, Dr. Floyd(Audrey) Goodman, and Dr. Christopher Glenney; beloved sister in law Patricia(Al)Escola; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom were special to her. Trudy was predeceased by her parents, husband, Dr. John T Goodman, daughter Dr. Jonna Lannert, brother David(Bettye) Cameron, sister Glenna(Dr. H Ward) Fountain, sisters in law Katherine(Dr. Donald) DeMeritt, Marcia(Dr. Christopher)Glenney.
A family celebration of life and memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the director Missy and all of the staff for the outstanding and loving tender care and respect with which they treated Trudy during her years at The Meadows of Owosso.
