Obituary of William A. Hoke

Hoke, William A. Bay City, MI William Arthur Hoke passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Bay City Comfort Care Assisted Living. William was born in Herkimer, New York on August 30, 1942, the son of Suzi (Levi) and Kenneth Hoke. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Kenneth John. William attended school in Mohawk, New York, and spent 4 years in the US Air Force upon graduation. He worked at Collins Radio Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and various military agencies finally retiring from the Defense Logistics Agency in Cameron Station, VA in 1995. He married Verna Thole in 1965; they were the parents of 3 children who survive: Bryan (Michelle) Hoke; Nancy (Richard) Humphries and Aaron (Juliet) Hoke. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Zachary and Andrew Hoke; Mitchell and Madison Humphries; and Evangeline, Gwendolyn, Patrick, Jacqueline and Katie Scarlett Hoke. He and Verna later divorced in 1989. He married Lynda Artrip in 1989. They both retired to Little River, South Carolina but they divorced in 2016. He has resided at Bay City Comfort Care Assisted Living since February of 2017. The family would like to thank the staff at Bay City Comfort Care and McLaren Hospice for the excellent love and care that he received. William has always been an active member in his church, the most recent being First Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching sports especially University of Michigan football. William has requested to be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Friday September 1, 2017, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, 1145 W. Center Rd. Essexville, MI 48732.
