Obituary of Debra L. Near

Near, Debra Lee (Roe) Millington, MI After a long struggle with cancer, Debra Lee (Roe) Near, 52, of Millington, Michigan passed away on February 27, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital. Debra was born on July 25,1964 in Fresno, California to the late John and Hazel (Harrington) Roe. Debra and Don Near were united in marriage on October 27, 1990. Surviving besides her husband Don are her children Michael (Katie Jo) Roe, and Jeremy Roe, grandchildren who she adored, Hailey and Landon. She is also survived by four sisters and three brothers, Charlotte Geyer, Jacqueline (Stan Prahin) Roe, Betty (Barry) Cusick, Kathe Roe Forsberg, John (Eileen) Roe, Harry (Donna) Roe and Walter Roe; mother-in-law, Linda Near; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and John Roe, brother-in-law Wallace Geyer and her father-in-law Clarence Junior Near. Debbie was employed at Timber Golf Club in Tuscola, Michigan. She recently earned her Associates Degree in Business Management from Kaplan University. We were all so proud of her. Her friendliness and kindness to all people, and her devotion and love for animals is a tribute to the beauty of her heart and soul. Her inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known her. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and will not have a service.
