The largest of hearts in our world stopped beating unexpectedly in the early morning February 3, 2017. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother was called home, Jacqueline May Riley, 89, left this earth to rest in the arms of our creator for eternal life.
The daughter of the late LaVerne and Beatrice (Bennett) Wright, Jackie was born July 4, 1927 in Flint, Michigan. She graduated from Wayne Memorial High School. Jackie married Gene Riley, her loving husband of 72 years, on December 20, 1944. He survives her. She was employed at Nankin Township Office for Five years. Jackie served as church secretary at North Prospect Baptist Church. While Gene continued his studies, she worked in bookkeeping in retail sales in Weatherford, Texas. Upon returning to Flint, Jackie was employed as a bus driver for Grand Blanc Schools. She and Gene owned and operated the Gene Riley Advertising Agency in Tawas from 1974 until her retirement in 1991. Jackie and Gene then became an evangelistic team in international ministry. Jackie and Gene were active in TCT (Total Christian Television) for over 20 years. She enjoyed photography, scrapbooking and writing journals. Most of all, she loved spending time with and was devoted to her family.
Surviving besides her husband Gene are two daughters, three sons and their spouses, Sandra and Hoyte Robertson, Freeland; Cliff and Bridget Riley, West Branch; Vern and Irene Riley, St. Charles; Michael and Fran Riley, Saginaw; Patty and Ron Albright, Saginaw. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Rodger Wright, Warren; several nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by a son, Daniel, and by one sister, Lena Napier.
Memorial Service will be held at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty) on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., visitation at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Tom Metz of Saginaw Valley Baptist Church and Pastor Sam Hamilton of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Midland will officiate.
