Obituary of James Arthur Brown
In loving memory of James Arthur Brown who was born on August 10,1930 in Saginaw Michigan. He was born to Arthur E. Brown who was a prominent Saginaw business man and his wife the former Angeline Sauve.
Mr. Brown was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he passed away on Friday January 13, 2017 at his home in Bay City Michigan. Mr. Brown was preceded by his beautiful and loving wife Kathryn Brown and his brother Mack Brown and sister Marion Richley and his step daughter Diane Hoffman and his step great granddaughter Chelsea Bott. Mr. Brown has two sons James A Brown Jr and Jeffrey H Brown and also has five surviving step children Ken and Rose Dark, Pam and Jim Hyatt, Deb and Chuck Wells, Brian and Judy Dark, David and Sue Dark, Allen J. Hoffman, he has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and also has great nieces and great nephews.
James Arthur Brown was married to the love of his life Kathryn Grace Pries on August 1,1958 and they were happily married for 34 years until she passed away on January 18, 1993.
James Arthur Brown joined the United States Army in 1950 and his occupation was a military policeman. Years later he received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Saginaw Valley State University and became a CPA. Mr. Brown worked in the accounting departments and/or was an office manager for Consumers Power, C.E. Rosenbury and Sons and at the Region VII Area Agency on Aging. Mr. Brown attended a music college and became a very accomplished pianist, he played a concert at Cobo Hall in Detroit Michigan at the age of 13 years old. Mr. Brown's piano playing style became well known in the tri-cities and he was in the Dick Jessup Band for many years. James Arthur Brown spent the majority of his life filling other people's lives with beautiful music. Details for a funeral service and family gathering will be given out at a later date.
