Obituary of Helen E. Kanyo

Kanyo, Helen E. Hope, Michigan Helen Elaine Kanyo died on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Her death was peaceful & pain free. Elaine was born on August 4, 1936 to Lawrence & Mildred Adams. On February 23, 1957 Elaine married Michael Kanyo. They were to celebrate their 60th anniversary next month. Elaine was an avid outdoors woman who enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, & moose. She loved to fish & after retirement moved to Florida where she & Mike bought a commercial fishing boat & fished the Gulf for several years. Elaine enjoyed bowling & was a skilled bowler. Elaine was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. Elaine is survived by her husband Mike, children Mike Jr., Ken, & Dawn Kanyo Roberson (Michael), grandchildren Ashley Kennard (Steven), Mike, Chance, & Cory Kanyo, Rian, Logan, Colter, & Ethan Roberson, special niece Pam Barkley (Adams) & great grandchildren Kamilla & Ellie as well as her spoiled, fat chihuahua Benjie. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bob, Larry, Ted, Dick, & Mike as well as her beloved great granddaughter Kaiya. A memorial luncheon will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the North Midland Family Center. Elaine's family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider an act of kindness toward someone.
