Obituary of Viola Frieda LaFlamme

LaFlamme, Viola Frieda Bay City, Michigan Vi passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region at age 96. She was born in Bay City on November 2, 1920 to the late George and Anna Meier. On April 12, 1947, she married Elden Peter LaFlamme who predeceased her in 1990. Vi enjoyed her family and friends, sewing, crafts, cooking, and especially baking German Christmas cookies. Throughout her life, her strength and dedication to her values were evident. Left behind to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Jean Rankin (Greg) and Janet Drzyzga; along with six grandchildren, Mae Drzyzga (Zack Luick), Anne Kothari (Chetan), Eve Drzyzga (Micah Woolace), Joy Hules (David), Neil Rankin (Amy), and Marc Rankin; as well as sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Vi was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Peter D. Drzyzga, four sisters and three brothers.
