Obituary of Thomas Gilbert Horning

Horning, Thomas G. Pinconning, Michigan Thomas Gilbert Horning, beloved husband, father and grandfather lost his courageous battle with cancer on Friday, November 11, 2016. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family at 83 years of age. Thomas was born in Bay City Michigan on January 22, 1933 to the late William Manny and Helen (Sikorski) Horning. Thomas has resided in Pinconning Michigan for the last 45 years. Thomas was a graduate of Bay City Central High School. He was retired from the City of Bay City. He has been a member of the Pinconning Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for the past 38 years. He enjoyed camping with family and close friends for many years. He also enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. Tom was an avid bargain hunter. Mr. Horning is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Rebecca A. (Long) Horning, their daughters Becky and Michael Urbaniak and their children, Madelyn and Jaden of Linwood, Stephanie and Matthew Siler and their children Kayla and Easton of Midland, Gwendolyn Kolbiaz and her children Ragan of Linwood, and Luke of Standish, Jennifer and Jerame Phelps and their boys Alex and Cory of Standish. He is also survived by his children Debbie, Kathy, Dave and Ricky of Washington State. Along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by one daughter Annette Arquette, his brothers Richard and Jim and his sister Deloris. Thomas's desire was to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 317 N. Water Street, Pinconning, Michigan on Saturday November 19 at 11:00 am.
