Obituary of Frances Penn Schloemann

Schloemann, Frances P. Midland, Michigan formerly of Troy, MO Frances Penn Schloemann, 102, passed peacefully Sunday, October 23 in Midland, Michigan. Her love of God and family gave her strength and peace throughout her long life. Fran was born to parents Harry and Forney Penn, September 21, 1914 in Troy, Missouri. She and her older sister Virginia graduated from Troy Buchanan High School. She married the love of her life, Lester Schloemann on November 10, 1935. They resided in Troy where they welcomed their only child, Lester Penn Schloemann in 1941. Fran and Les owned Schloemann Dry Cleaners in Troy for 35 years and enjoyed over 56 years of marriage. When she was 92, Fran moved to Midland, Michigan to be near her family. At the age of 100, when asked the secret to her longevity, Fran replied, "Junk food and the good Lord!" Her love for God was evidenced throughout her life by her dedication to the Troy Bible Holiness Church. She enjoyed taking rides in the car, extensive traveling, the St.Louis Cardinals, Domino's pizza from her grandson, playing Skip Bo with friends, and shopping. She was known for her entertaining (especially her fried chicken) and her positive spirit and outlook on life. Fran is survived by her son, Penn Schloemann of Midland, Michigan, her two grandchildren, Chris Schloemann (Elaine) of Midland, Michigan, and Tracy Hall (Bill) of Greenfield, Indiana and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester, her parents, sister and daughter-in-law, Joan. A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 19, 2016 at 10 am at the Troy Bible Holiness Church, 1200 S. Main St., Troy, MO, with a reception to follow. Friend of the family, Rev. Milton Schaper will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fran's life.
