Jackie passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 21, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Jackie was born May 27, 1943 in Bay City to the late Ernie E. Houghteling and the late Donna R. (Barriger) Bublitz. She was a graduate of both Akron-Fairgrove class of 1961 and the Bay City Beauty Academy. Jackie was united in marriage on June 24, 1967 with her loving husband Frank Crosby in Grayling. She owned and operated a beauty shop until she devoted the remainder of her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, & homemaker.
She enjoyed music, having a passion for playing the piano, dancing with her husband, laughing with all, her pet raccoon "Queenie", her therapy cat Cisco, feeding & watching wildlife and enjoying the beauty of nature. Jackie was also very proud of her talent for drawing.
She is survived by her husband, James Frank Crosby; four children and their spouses, Deanna & Ted Harbourne, Lori & Dale Miller, Renee & Paul Verbeke, & James & Sue Crosby. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren; 4 great –grandchildren; two very special nephews, Mike & Kurt Urban; niece, Jill Walker; & family friend, Bob Wood. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Chad C. Crosby and her sister Jill Marie Urban. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is being planned for a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Humane Society.
