Alfred Joseph Collet
Passed away May 25, 2015. Age 83. Alfred was born May 28, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Albert J. and Frieda K. (Sikkens) Collet. He served in the Marine Corps 1st Division H-3-7 from 1949 to 1953, taking part in the Korean War from Inchon to the Chosin Resevoir. He was a member of the National Chosin Few, Ohio Chosin Resevoir Veterans, First Marines Division Association, H-3-7 Brotherhood, and Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear, Plant 2 in 1995 after 30 years of service. On September 10, 1955, Alfred married Judith J. Malzahn. She survives him. He leaves two sons, Joseph (Kathy) Collet and Jeffrey Collet, six grandchildren; Madeline Collet, Emily Gibbons, Nathan Howie, Michelle (Chad) Kreager, Matt Kline, and Jonathan Kline, twin great-grandchildren, Owen and Aubree Kreager. He leaves one sister, Eileen Osterle, brother-in-law Tom (Andi) Jenkins, and brother-in-law Jack (Margie) Van Alstine, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Jenkins and brother-in-law Carly Malzahn. Private funeral services have taken place with a Memorial part to be held at a later date.
