Obituary of Suryarao Kurumety

Suryarao Kurumety Captain Kurumety, Suryarao, MD Saginaw, Michigan A beloved husband, father, grandfather and dedicated doctor and retired Captain of the U.S. Navy passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday evening, February 28th surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was born in July 1935 in Andra Pradesh, India as the only son of late Damodarao and Mangaraju Kurumety. He immigrated to the United States in 1974 and practiced as a Radiologist in Philadelphia, PA, Bethesda, MD and Portsmouth, VA, prior to settling down in Saginaw, Michigan in 1982. While living in Saginaw with his wife, Kamala Kurumety, he served as a Radiologist at several local area hospitals as well as at the Saginaw Naval Reserve Center and the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He met and married Kamala in Vizianagaram, India in 1956. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his four children Suseela Yalamarthy, Ravi Kurumety (wife Serena Kurumety), Sudha Gollapudi (husband Arun Gollapudi) and Usha Bulusu (husband Aditya Bulusu) and nine grand children Ayesha and Neel Yalamarthy, Sasha and Sahas Kurumety, Shilpa and Karthik Gollapudi and Arjun, Asha and Veena Bulusu. Memorial services will be held at the Saginaw Country Club, Saginaw, Michigan at 2 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Special services include Hindu Karma Puja and Military Honors.
