I have so many memories it's hard to choose a few. But Aunt Gerry would watch me in the mornings and days sometimes while my mom went to work. She was never a morning person but hoped the TV and my own entertainment would allow her to rest a bit longer for I usually was dropped off around 6am. She was the reason I fell in love with the show the Walton's. I'd watch it amongst get creative until she was ready to function. Though I always drove her crazy for I REFUSED any toast, scrambled eggs, and PB&J unless it was my grandma's homemade strawberry jam. I had never had bought jam till I was about 14-15 yrs old. One day she finally tried it years later and understood finally where I came from. On the nice days wed go outside and she trusted me to play lawn darts while Uncle Paul monitored his grass as he was very specific about his grass. He took everything I did in stride too. But Aunt Gerry had patience with my busy self. She loves playing Skip Bo and Rummy Cube and taught me how to play. Everytime I went over we always had to play. But I think now my most cherished memory was last year in the spring. We visited with her on our way back from checking on our property. And she got to meet my daughter Little Tamara for the first time. Her face lit up seeing her and holding her. We were hoping to visit again soon as she asked about her sometimes. But I'm greatfull for the time I got with her, the memories I have and the final memory I have of her holding my daughter and smiling while Rue had to sit on the walker trying to figure Little Tamara out. She is forever in our hearts.
