Jim, age 83, passed away on November 24, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1941, to the late William and Margaret Mott in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #4232 and Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Jim retired from the Malleable Iron plant in Saginaw. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, camping, traveling, and going to the casinos. He worked at Disney World for a time during his retirement. He was active with the Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens Center.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra Mott and Lynn (Dave) McDougall; grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Irish, Justin Fiting, Shawn (Leon) Morford, Melissa and Kevin Near; great-grandchildren, Abby and Brooklyn Irish, Lucas and Shelby Morford, and Austin Rayner; and one brother, John Mott.

He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Betty J. Mott; two step-daughters, Cindy Reeves and Dawn Near; two step-grandchildren, Shane Reeves and Megan Reeves; two brothers, Charles Mott and William Mott; three sisters-in-law, Marion Mott, Barbara Mott, and Betty A. Mott; and one infant sister, Betty Jane Mott.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, Michigan.  Father Peter Gaspeny will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00, and a luncheon will follow the service. Internment will take place at St. Andrew's Cemetery at a later date.
