Obituary of Thomas Harry Pruett

Pruett, Thomas Harry "Tom" of Gladwin, Michigan, and Fort Myers, Florida, age 82, passed away peacefully Monday, November 18, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his family.Tom was born in Flint, Michigan, on December 24, 1941, the son of David and Irene Pruett.

He was married to Joan (Kreft) for 58 years.He retired from General Motors after working for 30 years and moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, where he enjoyed fishing and golfing. He later returned to Gladwin, Michigan, where he enjoyed making memories on Secord Lake. He liked being outdoors, hunting, working at his barn, and helping family and friends with various projects. Tom was a handyman who could fix anything. He loved to cook for others, especially at deer camp. Tom also enjoyed playing darts and cards with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Eagles, where he enjoyed playing euchre and steak cards.

He is preceded in death by his son, Shane. Brothers Gary and Larry and parents David and Irene. He is survived by his wife, Joan; Children Tommy (Michelle) Pruett of Maryland, Gerald  (Lisa) Pruett of Michigan, Nicole Pruett of Grand Blanc, MI, Todd Pruett of Lehigh Acres, FL; and grandchildren Ryan (Whitney) Pruett of South Carolina, Collin Pruett of Maryland, Jolene and Jeri Pruett of Michigan, Lauryn Poupore of Clarkston, MI, Brianna Pruett of Clarkston, MI, Krysten and Matthew Pruett of Davison, MI, and sister, Carol of Florida. Tom leaves behind his beloved dog Pepper.
