Obituary of Paulette K Jacobs
Jacobs, Paulette Karen
Alger, MI
Paulette Karen Jacobs, also known as “PJ” and “the Peacock Lady,” went to heaven on August 15, 2024 at 81 with her loving family and friends by her side, at the age of 81.
She was born to the late Paul and Stella (Kurelat) Sekorske on March 29, 1943 in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Osborn High School, Detroit, MI, in 1961. She later moved to Colorado Springs, CO, where she was the Purchasing Agent for the Colorado Springs Public Schools. She lived in the Springs for several years where she “enjoyed beating the pants off of the GI’s while racing her ’69 GTO,” spending time with friends and family, and enjoying the beautiful sites. She moved to Alger, MI, in 1979 where she resided until her passing. She had a calling for working with people and worked at M-33 Supply for many years before retiring.
Paulette had a passion for the Detroit Tigers, her peacocks, lighthouses, making Afghans including her “Learn Your Colors” for the new babies to grow with, and a love for all animals. She loved watching her birds and wildlife as often as possible. She enjoyed seeing new places on many adventures throughout her life and most recently on her annual trips with her sister. PJ especially loved her family.
Affectionately known as Nana, she took extra pride in her grandchildren and showing off their many accomplishments. She was a wonderful mother who was always there to offer support, unconditional Love, and wisdom. It was said she knew everyone and she never made anyone feel like a stranger. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, strong determination, never ending kindness, and hugs that made everything better. She made an effort to always be interested in and care about all of those she loved, right down to the tiny details, and never missed an opportunity to tell you how much she loved you.
She is survived by her children, Erek (Nicole) Jacobs, Aleisha Hepfer, Ryan (Angie) Bialobrzeski, Rachael (RJ) Jacobs, Jeff (Kelly) Searfoss, Chris (Amy) Hepfer, and Shelly Knepfler; her grandchildren, Cyrenia (Brylee), Brooke, Olivia, Bryce, Justice, Brock, and Sis; her sister, Marsha (Bill) Dewey; her loving cousin, Vern; several nieces, nephews, “extra” kids, and many friends and extended family.
Paulette was so very loved and will forever be known as “The Mom.”
