Obituary of Linda Rose Sherlund

 

Linda Rose Sherlund (Detzler)
January 11, 1947 – August 9, 2024

 

Linda Rose Sherlund (Detzler), born in West Branch, Michigan on January 11, 1947 to her late parents Herman and Irene passed away peacefully. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, brother Harold and her sister Diane.  

Linda is survived by brother Roger Detzler and her devoted husband Kenneth Sherlund, with whom she shared a life of love. She was known fondly as “The First Lady" of Rose City. Linda and Kenneth raised three daughters together. 

Her eldest daughter, Laura Coleman and her husband Mike, blessed Linda with three grandchildren: Dwane Coleman, his wife Abby, and their daughter Henzi; Brandi Coleman, her partner Daniel, and their son Ronin; and Brook Coleman, her fiancé Dion, and their son Clyde.

Linda’s second daughter, Kathleen Sherlund, brought her joy with two grandsons: Stefphen Shellenbarger and his daughters, Saylor and Ali; and Seth King, his wife Juliann, and their son Oakston.

Her youngest loving daughter Julie Sherlund-Pelfrey, and her husband Duane, blessed Linda with a cherished granddaughter, Paige. 

Linda was a passionate lover of all animals, especially dogs and cats. Linda also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, and often taking them on her walks around town. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Rea Family Animal Shelter (formerly known as Ogemaw County Humane Society) in Linda’s name.  Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
