Obituary of Robert William Hembling

Robert “Bob” Hembling was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 8, 1940 to the late Floyd and Eileen (McGee) Hembling. He passed away June 8, 2024 at Covenant Hospital after a short illness.
Bob was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese, Michigan. He was a Marine Corp Veteran, Delta College graduate, baseball coach, football coach, AA sponsor, and retired terminal manager for Conway Southwest Texas. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Janet Manley. They shared their faith, Bible studies, and long drives exploring new and familiar places. He also enjoyed Thursday night cards with his Reese buddies, and collecting trucks.
Bob was very proud of his 6 children and their 11 grandchildren. Daughter, Theresa Christman, deceased; Son, Robert Hembling, Jr., Deceased; Daughter, Julie Sabourin and Dan of Frankenmuth, MI; Son, Michael Hembling and Yolanda of Baltimore, MD; Daughter, Karen Landry and Paul of Arlington, TX; and Daughter, Laura Hembling of Arlington, TX. Bob also has 3 brothers and one sister. Joe Hembling and Faye of Vassar, MI; Patrick Hembling, Deceased; MaryBeth Weisenburger and George of Vassar, MI; and Michael Hembling of Palmetto, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Respecting Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar, Michigan at Noon, Saturday, June 15, 2024.
