Obituary of Ernesto G. Delgado
Please share a memory of Ernesto to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ernesto “Ernie” G. Delgado of Midland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, surrounded by his family. Ernie was born in San Antonio, Texas, December 27, 1964, to the late Luis and Juanita Delgado.
Ernie enjoyed camping, hanging out with the locals at Miss Michele’s diner, helping others, cracking jokes, and giving people a hard time. He worked for 27 years in construction but left that behind to become a CNA later in life. Being a CNA was one of his greatest joys. He loved his residents and co-workers. Besides his job, Ernie loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and of course his beloved goldendoodle Maggie.
On March 27, 2001, Ernie married the love of his life, Janet Laney in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she survives him. Ernie was a loving and devoted father to his sons Justin (Kristy) Delgado, Tyler Collamer and daughter, Jennifer (Cruz) Hale. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Parker, Harlow, Cora, Bentley, and Tucker. Ernie was the baby of 11 children. He is survived by his sisters Estella Garcia, Maria Salas, Irma Delgado, Irene (Mike) Valdez, brother, Arturo (Birdie) Delgado, sister in laws, Sue (Bill) Davis, Rebecca (Ron) Badarak, Pamela (Jim) Cousineau and Sharon (Thomas) Moore, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Luis and Juanita Delgado, in-laws, Earl and Pauline Laney, brothers, George Delgado, Gilbert Delgado, Daniel Delgado, Larry Delgado, Rick Delgado, and by many nephews and in-laws.
In 2022, Ernie faced any parents’ worst nightmare, the loss of his adored, beautiful daughter, Lisa Jackson. He missed her beyond belief and was at peace knowing he would leave this world and be reunited with her and all his lost family members.
To honor his wishes, Ernie will be cremated, and no memorial service will take place. The family appreciates all your love, thoughts, and prayers. Ernie was a great man and will be missed immensely.
