Obituary of Clinton Searles Burhans

Clinton Searles Burhans III, age 67, loving husband of Rebecca Zeiss, passed away after a brief illness, May 31, 2024 in Midland, MI. Clint was born in Ontario, Canada, but spent most of his early years in Michigan and went on to attend college at Michigan State University where he studied English and writing. He then worked on film sets as still photographer and commercial camera crews for the car industry but after meeting Rebecca returned to pursuing a MA in writing and literature at Central Michigan University. With their mutual interest of image-making they purchased a photography and design business together. Clint taught English and photography at Central Michigan University, Northwood University, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College, Delta College and Mid-Michigan Community College.

Clint is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Zeiss, of 14 years; his son Dylan; stepson Jonathan (Andrea) Randall, their children Aaliyah, Scarlett, and Liam; stepdaughter Erin (Mario) Rodriguez; step granddaughter Jilliyn (Austin Boks) Lamb; and his brother Michael.

Clint was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Clinton Burhans Jr.; his mother Barbara (Almstead) Stoughton of Midland; his elder sister, Bronwen McKenzie; youngest brother, Jeff; his dear stepfather, Bud Stoughton; his father-in-law Dennis Zeiss, mother-in-law Judy; and step grandchildren Jayden and Faith Lamb.
