Lowell G. Thomas, age 88, of Beaverton, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2024. Lowell worked in education for 35 years. He not only worked for the Midland Public Schools as a teacher, and later as an administrator, but also taught at Delta College and was an administrator at Great Lakes Junior College. Lowell was an author of five books, ranging from a children's book to a collection of war hero interviews. He also did freelance work for the Midland Daily News. At one time he even had a radio show called Thomas Tidbits. He and wife Jane were world travelers, which include cruises abroad.
He is survived by his brother, Bruce (Jeanette) Thomas; a daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Bouchey; and a son, David (Vicki) Thomas; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Jane, his wife of 65 years and the love of his life; a sister, Bernadine Carr; and a brother, Douglas Thomas.
Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.
