Obituary of Larry Wesley Panks

Larry Wesley Panks, age 83, of Clio, Michigan, formerly of Ionia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024. Larry was born on January 6, 1941 in Clio, Michigan to the late Wesley and Neita (Smith) Panks. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received some distinguished medals and badges to include expert rifles and pistols, medals for good conduct and a purple heart.
He will be fondly remembered as a Marine, Vietnam Vet, Easyrider Rodeo Legend, custom Harley Davidson creator, and exceptional auto body tech. He loved nothing more than to serve his country and be on a Harley.
He is survived by six children, Tamara (Jeff Lafayette) Panks, Larry W. (Julie Starland) Panks Jr, Dawn (Grover) Skidmore, Mike (Wendy) Meyers, Angie (Mitch) Harrington and Shanda (Mark) Berdan; two sisters, Janet (Larry) Heath and Kathy Revoir; 15 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Panks; the “love of his life” Sandra Panks; and granddaughter, Chasity Panks.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Upon entrance to the cemetery you will be directed to the appropriate position in your car’s line up.
