Obituary of Carolyn Helen Adcock
Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carolyn Helen Adcock, age 81, of Midland, died peacefully May 11, 2024 at Medilodge of Midland, surrounded by her children. Carolyn was born November 23 1942 in Midland to the late Arza and Annie Sleeper. She worked at Katherine Stevens Shop in downtown Midland and also at Emily Gibbs in Midland. She married James Adcock on March 18,1988, and he preceded her in death in 2007. After Jim’s passing, she resided at Washington Woods for more than 17 years. Carolyn was a very friendly and social person, and she developed many friendships while living there. She enjoyed playing card games and socializing with her neighbors; and loved playing the games, aggravation, cribbage, and euchre with her family. She also loved the outdoors, especially fishing, archery hunting with her brother, and archery 3D shooting. Carolyn and her husband Jim would often take Sunday drives to explore our beautiful state of Michigan. However, her number one love, was the love she had for our savior Jesus. She would talk about how she looked forward to the day she could see Jesus in Heaven. Her faith and love showed in her daily living.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Donna (Elgin) Hess of Sanford, son, Scott (Kathy) Pettipas of Midland; her grandchildren, Carly Owens, Carson (Julie Battle) Hess, Sara (Scott) Morrisette, Ryan (Britnee) Pettipas, and Aaron (Jessie) Pettipas; great-grandchildren, Ella Owens, Lukas Pettipas, Graham Morrisette, Olivia Pettipas, Will Morrisette, and Reid Morrisette. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Adcock; her brothers, Tom and Wally Sleeper; sister, Patricia Pitt; and the father of her children, Ronald Pettipas.
Respecting Carolyn’s wishes, no service will be held, and a private family gathering will be held later this summer to celebrate Carolyn’s life. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to MyMichigan Hospice or Senior Services of Midland.
