Obituary of Diane Margaret Scott

Diane Margaret Scott, age 86, of West Branch, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, in the comfort of her home. Diane was born on May 10, 1937, to Cecil and Iva (Linsenman) Bohlinger in Flint, Michigan. Diane grew up in West Branch and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1955. 

She married Donald Hill and together they had two children, Steven and Gina. She later married Steve Scott in 1967 whom she met at Wurtsmith Air force base and relocated to Dover, Delaware, before finally settling in West Virginia, upon Steve’s retirement from the military. Later they moved home to West Branch, Michigan to live out the rest of their life together. They accomplished 45 years of marriage when Steve passed in 2012. Diane enjoyed reading books, listening to music, and had a great love for cats. She often referred to her cats as her “kids”. She was also a member of ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). 

Diane is survived by her close friend, Cheryl Hill; sister, Linda Greene of West Branch; son, Steven Hill of West Branch; and her cat, Lilly.  She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Iva Bohlinger; husband, Steve Scott; daughter, Gina Hill; and nephew, Wade Green.

Per Diane’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and she will be buried beside her daughter Gina at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Branch.  A private celebration of life with family and close friends will take place for her burial at a later date.
