Sandy Ellis, age 75, peacefully passed away from this life on February 28, 2024, surrounded by her family. Sandra May was born on September 29, 1948 to the late Vernon and Marjorie (Sian) Wetherell. A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was deeply loved and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Ellis II and step-son Bradley Shane Ellis, brother Donald Witherell and sister Marlene Kerns-Donahue. She is survived by her children Angela, our family's blessing, helping our momma with tenderness and loving care and devotion, (Dan) Dortman of Midland, Eric (Teri) Coggins of Beaverton, Brad (Connie) Coggins of Indiana and Dawn Fitzgerald of Key West, Step-sons Roger III (Lisa) Ellis and Steve Ellis. She delighted in her 17 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Fletcher and Penny Brown, both of California, and brothers Randy Wetherell of Lake, Barry (Janice) Wetherell of Missouri. She cherished all of her nieces and nephews; gifting those timeless handmade treasures, specially crafted gifts of love from Auntie Sandy. She truly loved Jesus and she loved her church family. Momma's devoted faith in her Savior was her source of perfect peace and unwavering desire and determination to hold out to the end. And for that, we are truly and eternally blessed. With so much love and gratitude, we know her peace is forevermore.
Our mom had a beautiful spirit; a selfless soul, endowed with so many creative talents. Mom loved to cook for any occasion and she baked the very best goodies! Anyone who has tasted, will tell you her cookie recipes and those holiday treats cannot be beat. She has lived many adventures, with real photos as proof of them all. She was always the one with the camera; if you've met our momma, there is likely a photo of you in her albums. Golfing was her sport of choice, even winning a couple city championships. She enjoyed traveling with Roger and playing different courses with family and friends.
A service will be held in her honor at 7pm Friday March 1, 2024 at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 609 Mill St., Midland. In lieu of flowers, please consider support to Season's of Midland.
