This has hit me hard and taken words away. I loved my dear friend, Barb, since the day I met her. The family moved into the house at the corner with 5 brothers and sisters. She had asthma , the move aggravated it, and I did not meet her first. She was so fun! She would sit on the front porch with some Pepsi and her radio and watch the kids. She taught me how to play Rummy 500, Canasta, Pinochle, Euchre. She was my babysitter, and later, when she had kids, I babysat for Christie and Bryan. Such a sweet mom! Such a good friend! So much love. I remember the apartment in Clinton Twp, the house on Harrison Twp., the house on Saratoga in Detroit. I remember going to the Lake District to her Dad's to visit the family. The last time I spoke to her last June when I was driving to Walled Lake and it reminded me of that time...it looked so familiar to me. I visited her in Prudenville. I was lucky enough to see her marry Bernie. We also saw Downton Abbey in the theater. We did a lot of catching up then. Oh, Barb! I know she's singing with the angels!
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let Your perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed
rest in peace.

I only met Barb once but the kindness from her in that one interaction was profound. She leaves behind some pretty awesome family who will continue to live her legacy.

I've known Barb since she was 17. She was ALWAYS kind and sweet.That never changed about Barb. I always considered her my niece because that was what she was to me. She loved me as Aunt Ruth.
Barb and I could be years apart in communicating, but, one phone call, one visit, brought us right back to where we left off. THAT is true love.
Through her greatest struggles, she was a champion-weathering through it.
Then came Bernie, the love of her life. Such a wonderful man that God blessed her with. God blessed Bernie with a true love and caring "beautiful inside and out" wife. He always showed visibly how much he loved and appreciated her.
Barb was just a beautiful human being. She had a beautiful, warm, smile. She had a spring in her step no matter what the situation. She went throught life just spreading blessings and joy wherever she went. Now, I'm crying profusely.....There's no doubt that when she left this life, she was ushered by angels to the throne. I'm sure Jesus embraced her and said, "Well done good and faithful servant...Enter thou into the joy of thy lord (Matt 25:23).
I'm going to miss her so very much. (still crying)
Barb raised two beautiful children and loved their families. I am blessed to continue being part of theirs and Bernies lives.

I have so many memories of Barbie to choose from, but the one that always stands out is her dancing to dreams by Fleetwood Mac at the Eagles family night. That song has and always will remind me of her and always take me back to that special time. She was a blessing to many and I was honored to have her as my Sister. She was fun and full of laughs

My heart is broken to lose my big sister.
I am so thankful that the Lord put us in the same family.
We had so much fun together and we were always making each other laugh. Her laughter and beautiful smile will be what I miss most. <3
I have so many great memories of swimming, sledding, dancing, girls trips & family games. And of course her cheating at croquet.

Dr. Mario-a-thons. It was serious business. If I was winning and she noticed, she would knock the controller out of my hands and laugh at me. Or push me out of my chair so I would fall on the floor and mess up my game. It was hilarious. No matter what we were doing, we were laughing. I love ya Momma.

Your mom was the nicest mom I've meet in a long time. I always was happy when I saw her and wasn't expecting to see her, to see her smiling face supporting or hanging with your family. You were lucky to have such a loving mom and be so close to her. I will miss her.

Barbie has always been there in my time of need. When her Dad was in hospice when I had knee surgery a better care giver you could not find.
She and I have had more special times with a lot of laughter and love. Below in her own words from one of our girls trips.
"Year 15 of our girls trips, and again another successful trip. I have to write fast as we are getting ready to leave. Yes!! I know the 45th parallel goes all the way around. Janet may or may not "seem responsible". Dawn loves to do u turns and drives like a race car driver. Yes Christina, we could all go to a sewage plant and have fun!"
