Mary, age 95, passed away at home on December 16, 2023. She was born in Laingsburg Michigan on July 12, 1928 to the late Albert and Vivian Schnebelt. She was one of eight children, having 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She married Herbert Klem August 27, 1949, and he predeceased her on November 19, 2006.

She was a hard-working farmer’s wife, and her work ethic was evident in every area of her life, from raising chickens, milking dairy cows, bailing hay, doing chores around both the farm and house, and cooking.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a graduate of Morrice High School’s Class of 1948. She enjoyed watching game shows, traveling, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.  Family was everything to her.

Surviving her are sister, Donna J. Schnebelt; sons, Kenneth Klem and David (Susan) Klem; and daughter, Ruth (Brian) Pfeifle; grandchildren, Stacey (Steve) Larner, Mark (Veronica) Klem, Steven (Leslee) Klem, Keith (Julie) Pfeifle, and Kevin (Julie) Pfeifle; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Larner, Jason Larner, Makenna Klem, Holden Klem, Taylor Engel, Cassidy Engel, Abigail Black, Noah Pfeifle, Ace Pfeifle, Brody Pfeifle and Camryn Pfeifle; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Albert “Bud”, Louise, Donald, Dale, Joan & Ardith Talbot.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Bethany Cemetery, Morrice Michigan, with Msgr. George Michalek officiating.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan is handling the arrangements.
