Joshua “Josh” Joseph Eaton, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2023 at his home. Josh was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada, to the parents of Debra Ellis (Colgan) and Patrick Eaton. After moving from Canada, Josh spent many years living throughout Michigan in St. Clair County, the Upper Peninsula in Ontonagon, and most recently in the Midland area.
Josh will be remembered for his contagious laugh and humor. He was a lively outdoorsman which is why the Ontonagon area held his heart for so long. Josh loved being outside, fishing, hunting, barbecuing and enjoying nature. He was skilled in-home improvements, carpentry and wood working, and you could almost always find him working on a project. He professionally removed asbestos for several years. Josh was an exceptional cook and always willing to help others in need. He loved watching wildlife and often carried treats to share with any visiting pets. Josh found comfort in reading the word of God. He will be missed by many.
Josh is survived by his daughter, Samantha Sharpe, four Grandchildren, Kayden Reid, Khyree Reid, Kendra Ray, Kashy Reid, three Sisters, Jolene (Curtis) Jernigan, Kelly (Dan) McLean, Tina (Tim) Russell along with many nieces and nephews. Josh is preceded in death by his Mother Deb Ellis (Colgan), Father Patrick Eaton, Grandmother Diamond Eaton, and Grandparents Robert and Virginia Colgan.
We welcome memories and sharing together at a celebration of Josh’s life being held at The New Life Center located at the Floyd Church of God, 1015 W.
