Obituary of Edward Aloysuis Fritz

April 15, 1936 – October 11, 2023

Edward A. Fritz “Fast Eddie” of Essexville aged 87 years, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023, at his residence, with his family by his side. Born to the late John A. & Rose A. (Groulx) Fritz on April 15, 1936, in Bay City, MI, Ed graduated from Central High School and then worked for GM in Bay City until his retirement.  He united into marriage to Norine Kay Walraven on July 23,1966 and they were blessed with two wonderful daughters.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Norine and daughter Laura Choyce; grandchildren: Adam (Justin) McIntire, Ben (Kayla) McIntire, Jessica (Tony) Peden, TJ (Becky) Fritz, Lawerence (Mariah) Choyce, Joshua Choyce; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and friends, along with special grand-pup Stanley.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his daughter Suzanne McIntire, brother & sister-in-law John (Judy) Fritz, sister & brother-in-law Jane “Sis” (Arthur) Hertel, sisters-in-law: Kathy Walraven, JoAnn Walraven, Lois Draper, nephew Edward Hertel, and great nephew Paul Edward Hertel. 

Per Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal services will be provided.
