Obituary of Ernestine "Tina" Eliza Spencer

Ernestine E. “Tina” Spencer, age 86, of Reese Michigan, and formerly of Vassar Michigan, passed away on April 16, 2023. She was born on March 17, 1937, to the late Laura (Alyea) Blackmer and Erie Blackmer. She was a member of the Vassar Nazarene Church and enjoyed time with her family, church, reading, knitting, and traveling.

Tina is survived by three children, Erie Mead, Patti (Mead) Conely, and Alan Mead; nine grandchildren, Craig and Chad Mead, Peter Conely, Kenny, Mick, Jackie Mead, Christina (Mead) Engman, and Paula and Barbette Mead; many great-grandchildren, with the youngest just born on March 3, 2023, and whom she was able to meet and enjoy before her passing; two sisters, Phoebe Spencer and Vicki Thornton; and dozens of nieces and nephews she has known and loved over the years.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth Mead in 1978 and Stanley Spencer in 2019; two children, Ruth Ann and John Michael; and seven siblings.

Per explicit instructions from Tina herself, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and placement of her cremains will be done privately by her family. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed by those who knew her best.
