Obituary of Lucas Charles Gainforth

Lucas Charles Gainforth, age 24, of East Lansing, Michigan died January 2, 2023. He was born on June 14, 1998 in Russia. Lucas graduated from the Secondary Learning Center in Mason, Michigan and was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish in East Lansing, Michigan.  Lucas enjoyed playing darts, listening to music, collecting hats, skateboarding, and helping others.

Lucas is survived by his beloved mother, Barbara; his brother, Matthew; his dogs, Hope and Faith; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Steele, of Akron; cousins, Michael Heinz of Miami, FL, Mark and Braxton Heinz of Clinton Township, MI, and Aiden Charbeneau and his mother, Christina of Mt. Clemens, MI. Also surviving are his uncle and aunt, Tim and Mary Heinz of Bay City, MI. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Steele.

Lucas will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, including his extended Dutch Hills family and his friends at the Mayfair, with whom he played darts.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823 with Fr. Michael Cassar officiating. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
