Mary Lou, age 70 of Standish, Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 with her loving husband of 51 years by her side. Mary Lou was the firstborn child of Sidney and Barbara (Marsh) Wolfgang of Sterling. She was born on September 9, 1951. She was a graduate of Standish Sterling High School class of 1969. On July 31, 1970 she married Ray Peppel of Standish. Over the years Mary Lou held a number of different jobs in the community including State Bank of Standish, Farm Bureau, Standish Elementary, Arenac Opportunity and Standish Credit Union. For a number of years she had a daycare in her home and helped operate Ray's woodworking business. She enjoyed camping, gardening, painting, making jewelry, her grandchildren and spending time with all of her family. Mary Lou is survived by her parents, husband Ray, daughters Jennifer Kozlowski and Kelly Peppel both of Standish, grandsons Cameron, Kade (Jessica), and Benjamin, sisters Christine Senske and Margaret Wolfgang, brothers Sidney (Suzanne) Wolfgang and Mike (Mona) Wolfgang all of Sterling, many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Ellen Peppel. As were Mary Lou's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
