Obituary of Bernard James Ballor

Bernard J. Ballor of Bay City passed away on January 18, 2022 at the age of 93. Barney was born in 1928 to Irene and Harvey Ballor and spent his childhood in Kawkawlin. He is survived by his son Doug Ballor, daughter-in-law Liz Pulos, granddaughter Rachel Ferree, Rachel’s husband Mike Ferree and their son Seanix. Barney is also survived by his daughter Karen Ballor, son-in-law Joe Timmons and grandsons Matthew Timmons and Phillip Timmons. Barney was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Majeske) Ballor. Barney is also survived by siblings Joyce Deal and Ken Ballor. His sisters Mary Tacey and Norma Klender are deceased. Gerry and Barney had a long and happy marriage spent raising their children, camping, boating, biking, cross-country skiing, hosting family events at their cottage, and having travel adventures. They were long-time members of the First Congregational Church and enthusiastic regulars at the YMCA. They will both be missed for their caring natures, big hearts, love of family and passion for life. Following Gerry’s death, Barney was blessed with the love and companionship of Vi O’Hare (deceased). In the last year of his life, Barney shared a life of joyful love with his partner Diane Sullivan.
