Lexus and Laurie Phinney posted a condolence

Nancie befriended my 18 year old daughter several years ago when Lexus worked at Meijer before heading off to college. Nancie continued to write and keep in touch with my daughter throughout her four years of college and when she went off to Officers bootcamp for the Army. I delighted in also looking out for Nancie to keep her updated on my daughter’s progress. She always had a warm and engaging enthusiasm, my daughter would always look for her when home for a visit. She held a very special place in my daughter and my heart for her caring, sweet nature and her grandmotherly concern. Our deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I'll never forget that you made a major change in my life when you took me in as your Foster Child and always considered me as one of the family members. You was there for me back then and you were still there for me now. You supported me on everything and you hold a special place in my heart from then and forever. I will always considering you as my second mother and I will truly miss you. I Love You Mama Cook. ❤️❤️❤️

I remember when Cookie was born. I was 4 years old....My cousin Eddie was 4 months old, my sister Mary Gaye was 6 weeks old, and cousin Marianne 5 weeks old!! Grandma Leppien had her heart and a lap full of Love.
Cook always had Love in her heart and would share whatever you needed. She shared photos and videos of her grandchildren, whom she adored, at least once a week. We kept in touch until the end.....Peace and comfort to Rick....to DJ, Ashlee and Kellee, "Aunt Lil" will be there for all of you whenever you need me. I will miss you and your silly antics my dear cousin. ♥️

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother, my dear cousin Cookie. Cook and I were one of four Leppien cousins that were all born within four months of each other. The first. Eddie was born in December, then Mary Gaye and I were both born within a week of each other in February and then Cookie at the beginning of April. There is a picture of Grandma Leppien when she was surrounded by these four babies! We all had lots of fun together at family gatherings.
Cook and I communicated regularly and she was always sending me pictures of the family, especially the grandchildren. She was always full of love for others and love of the Lord. We will all miss her very much!
