Obituary of Gay Alma Graves

Gay Alma Graves, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Pine Haven Assisted Living. Gay was born on August 10, 1935 in Midland to the late Lee and Ruth (Wierman) Cross. Gay met her husband Rollin while they were both working for the Midland and Frolic Theaters. They were married for 70 years. Rollin predeceased her in July of 2025. Gay retired after many years of service from Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. Gay enjoyed cooking, baking, growing a beautiful garden, and most of all sewing and quilting. She made hundreds of quilts and book bags that went around the world to those in need.

Surviving are a son, Steven (Mary) Graves; a daughter, Penny (Gary Kennedy) Graves; grandchildren, Megan (Eric) Scott, and Brent (Jessica Warren-Klein) Graves; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Wesson, Brooke and Xavier; a brother, Robert Cross; 2 brothers-in law, Bruce and Gerald Graves; and a sister-in-law, Lorriane Phillips.
