Obituary of Laura Ann Stone
Laura Ann Stone, lovingly known as Laura to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, in Midland, Michigan, after a courageous battle with Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer. Born on August 24, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Laura's life was a testament to her thoughtful nature, selfless spirit, and analytical mind.
Laura's journey began in the heart of Detroit, where she grew up surrounded by the loving embrace of her siblings, Anthony Zuzga, Patricia Marshall, Cornell Zuzga, and Katherine Marshall. Her passion for learning and natural aptitude for numbers led her to pursue an Associate's Degree, which became the foundation of her long and fulfilling career. For forty-five years, Laura dedicated herself to the profession of bookkeeping, where her analytical skills and attention to detail were not just her trade but her calling.
Throughout her life, Laura's selfless character shone brightly in the love and care she provided to her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Nichole Monroe and Heather Stone, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren, Tegan and Anthony Espinosa. Laura took immense joy in helping her grandchildren with their endeavors, imparting her wisdom and nurturing their growth with every chance she got.
Laura's interests were a mirror to her personality. She found solace and satisfaction in working with numbers, a reflection of her methodical and meticulous nature. In her free time, Laura's favorite hobby was sewing, a skill she wielded with grace and precision. The garments and crafts she created were not only items of beauty but also symbols of her love and dedication.
Her thoughtfulness was evident in the way she approached life, always considering the needs and feelings of others before her own. Laura's selflessness was her hallmark; she gave of herself generously, never seeking recognition or praise. Her analytical mind was not just reserved for her work; she applied it to all aspects of life, navigating challenges with clarity and foresight.
To say Laura will be missed is an understatement. Her absence will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Yet, her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Laura's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of devotion, compassion, and intelligence. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on this world. Laura Ann Stone's story is one of a life well-lived and well-loved, and she will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
