Obituary of Betsy Jeanette Eppinga

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betsy Jeanette (nee Olds, Hebert)

Eppinga, age 96, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 7, 2025, in Owosso, Michigan.
Betsy was born February 17, 1929, in St. Petersburg, Florida to Theodore & Hazel (nee
Hamilton) Olds. At a young age, the family moved to Michigan where she grew up and lived for
the rest of her life.
Betsy lived her life gardening, painting, dancing, shopping, and spending time with her large
family. She was always on the go, looking for another reason to shop, mostly for flowers and
other plants. She spent hours and hours planting and re-planting to make her gardens just right.
Betsy was not only a mother and Grandma, but a Great Grandma (11), and a Great-Great
Grandma (3). She was also an aunt, a Great-Aunt, and a Great-Great Aunt as well as a cousin.
She is survived by her 5 children: Raymond (Susan) Hebert of California, Sally Pake of Owosso,
Polly (William) Lesnock for Grand Rapids, Suzette Hebert of Flint, and Thomas “Tom” Hebert of
Owosso; 8 grandchildren: Sasha Pake, Sonya Pake, Lloyd “Butch” Pake, Sarah Pizzo, Megan
(Justin) Moore, William “Buz” Lesnock, Erin Lesnock, and Lauren (Stephen) Wiley, 14 Great
Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, niece Kelley (David) Stevens, nephew
Theodore “Teddy” (Judy) Olds, cousin Sandra (Wright) Felker, 1 great nephew and 3 great
nieces, and 3 great-great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband
Vernon Hebert, siblings: Theodore “Ted” (Nancy) Olds, Frederick “Fred” Olds, Alice (Norm)
Morin and nephew Joel Morin.
Per Betsy’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a memorial will be held at a later date.
